I am a Politcal Science graduate of the University of Florence and worked as a PR for a famous fashion designer in Milan, before getting involved in the olive oil industry. The latter being an industry of lovely, special people, where I have made a number of friends who are sharing a common passion, olive oil.
I grew up in Tuscany amongst the olive groves, and was taught to appreciate olive oil before learning to ride a bike.
I moved to Stellenbosch in 2001 and, inspired by my father’s vision of a promising future for EVOO in South Africa, I took over his role as Sole Agent of Mori-Tem/Oliomio’s, olive oil extraction equipment upon his passing.
Motivated by my love for EVOO and my desire to become more knowledgeable and competent in the tasting field, and in order to ensure a more professional approach to my customers , I made use of every opportunity to learn more by attending various courses over the past 10 years.
I have been a member of the official SA Olive tasting panel since 2009 and have regularly tasted in local competitions as well as in the recent Sol D’Oro competitions in Cape Town and Melbourne.
I am very proud to have become an Associate Savantes in January 2018 , following a very informative course presented by Simon Field.
