Searching for a more appealing way of giving consumers a taste of the wonderful flavours of extra virgin olive oil (evoo), Savantes has developed the Savourgram© and the FlavourSum©.
The new concepts will be launched at the Savantes programme in Melbourne Australia on 16th and 17th March 2023. A wonderful selection of some of the worlds leading extra virgin olive oil producers have sent their new season products for tasting. These oils come from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece and Australia.
Under the mantra of increasing the global consumption of extra virgin olive oil, the programme will build on the basics of technical tasting, then add the emotional and practical elements needed to sell the product to consumers. Participants will first focus on the product, and then the people who use it.
All the competencies acquired are summarised in the Savantes FlavourSum© = Emotion+vison+sound+aroma+mouthfeel+taste. The flavour profile is presented through the Savourgram© which graphically represents the intensities and persistence of the three positive characteristics of evoo; fruitiness, bitterness and fieriness, and identifies the food flavours.
